JSK Photo Studio support
Getting started
Install JSK Photo Studio from your browser's extension store, then click the toolbar icon and choose a mode: Merge, Photo, Scan or Sheet. The workspace opens in a normal tab.
You do not need an account. Everything on the core path — document sizes, cropping, the compliance card, sheets and PDF export — works immediately.
Add a photo in whichever way suits you: click Add images, drag files onto the Sources column, or press Ctrl+V to paste from the clipboard.
Using JSK Photo Studio
Making a passport or ID photo
Open the Photo tab. Search the size list by name, country or pixel dimensions — typing 413x531 or Reisepass both work. Drag the photo to position it, use the zoom slider, then drag the crown and chin lines onto the top of the head and the bottom of the chin. The compliance card then measures the real head height rather than guessing at it.
Click Download to save at exactly the size the document requires.
Hitting a kilobyte limit
Many portals cap the file size. The export bar shows the real encoded size, live, as you move the quality slider. Open Size target to enter the minimum and maximum kilobytes; the readout turns green when you are inside the band. On a paid plan, Hit it finds a qualifying quality for you.
Printing a sheet
Open the Sheet tab, choose a paper size and a photo size, and the extension calculates how many fit. The badge under the sheet reports the arrangement and the margins you will actually measure. Click Download PDF and print at 100% / Actual size — not "Fit to page", which rescales everything.
Straightening a scanned document
Open the Scan tab and add a photo of the document. Drag the four corner dots onto its corners; the outline shows the region that will be straightened, and the right-hand preview updates live. Choose Photocopy for anything with a face on it and Text for printed or handwritten text.
Troubleshooting
- The printed photo is the wrong size — check you printed at 100% or "Actual size" rather than "Fit to page". If it is still slightly off, use the printer calibration sheet in the Sheet tab: print it once, measure the 100 mm ruler, and enter what you measured.
- The sheet badge is red — the photo does not fit the paper at that margin and gap. The badge states the overflow in millimetres. Reduce the minimum margin or the gap, or choose a larger paper.
- "One corner is pushed inside the other three" — in Scan mode, the four corners must form a proper rectangle. Drag the offending corner back outwards.
- A HEIC photo will not open — HEIC input needs a paid plan. Alternatively, export the photo as JPEG from your phone's Photos app, which works on every tier at no cost.
- The compliance card says head height is unknown — drag the crown and chin lines onto your head. The extension measures from where you put them rather than guessing with face detection that might be wrong.
- My saved projects disappeared — "Clear all local data" in Settings removes saved projects, the resumable session and your settings. It cannot be undone.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use it?
No. The core path is free and needs no account.
Where are my photos stored?
Only on your device. An interrupted edit is kept locally for 24 hours so you can resume it, then expires.
Can I use it offline?
Yes, entirely — unless you connect a JSKAPPS account, which needs one request to check your plan.
Why does it only ask for "storage" permission?
Because that is all it needs. It never reads a web page, so it requests no host access.
