JSK Photo Studio privacy policy

Overview

JSK Photo Studio processes your photos entirely on your own device. Images are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The extension requests a single permission — local storage — and no access to any website.

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. We have no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no advertising. We do not know how many photos you make, which document sizes you use, or that you installed the extension at all.

If you choose to connect a JSKAPPS account, your API key is stored locally in the browser and sent to api.jskapps.com to check which plan you are on. That request contains your API key, the product identifier and a random device identifier — no photo, no filename, and no image data of any kind.

The device identifier is a random value created the first time you connect an account. It is not derived from your hardware, your browser or anything about you. It lets JSKAPPS count how many devices an account's key is used on, so a licence's device limit can be applied. It is stored only on this device and never synced, and Clear all local data in Settings deletes it. If you never connect an account, it is never created.

When you install and uninstall

On install, the extension opens our documentation page in a new tab, once. It does
this only on a first install, never on an update. Nothing is sent — it is an ordinary page
visit, and our website's own privacy policy covers it.

On uninstall, your browser opens a short feedback page on our website. Removing the
extension is the only thing that triggers it, and the page carries three pieces of
information in its address:

• The extension version — for example v=0.2.0. So we know which release was removed.
• How long it was installed, rounded — for example days=7. Always one of 0, 1, 7, 30 or 90, never an exact date.
• Which plan you were on — for example tier=free. Always one of instant, free or paid.

That is the whole of it. No account identifier, no email address, no API key, no
filename, and nothing about any photo you made. The three values cannot identify you or
be joined to anything else we hold, and the rounded day count is deliberately coarse for
that reason. You are never asked to complete the page, and closing it is a complete
answer.

How we use it

Your photos are used only to produce the output you asked for, in your browser. A connected API key is used only to determine which features your plan unlocks.

Permissions and why we need them

• storage — to keep your settings, your panel layout, an interrupted editing session and your saved projects on your own device.

That is the complete list. In particular:

• We request no host permissions, so the extension cannot read or modify any website.
• We do not use the tabs, downloads, scripting or activeTab permissions.
• Downloads are performed with an ordinary link, which is why no download permission is needed.

Data storage and retention

Everything is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and extension storage:

• Interrupted sessions expire automatically after 24 hours.
• Saved projects and settings stay until you delete them.
• Your photos, projects and settings are never stored on our servers, because they are never sent. If you connect an account, JSKAPPS keeps a record of plan checks for that account, including a one-way hash of the device identifier.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, share or transfer your data, because we do not have it. There are no third-party scripts, SDKs, fonts or analytics in the extension.

The only network destination the extension can contact is api.jskapps.com, and only to check the plan of an account you have deliberately connected.

Security

Your images never leave your device, which removes the largest category of risk outright. Photo metadata is stripped by construction: exports are re-encoded from raw pixels, so EXIF and GPS location data are never carried into a file you save.

Your choices

• Use the extension without an account — then it makes no network requests at all.
• Disconnect an account at any time from Settings; your local work is untouched.
• Clear all local data in Settings removes saved projects, any resumable session, your settings and the device identifier in one action.
• Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage with it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the extension's release notes.
