JSK Inkstone support
Getting started
Download the installer and run it. If it appears to do nothing, right-click it and choose Run as administrator — Windows needs elevation to install.
The app opens ready to use. There is no account to create, nothing to configure, and no trial clock. Type or paste your content, and a code appears immediately.
Using JSK Inkstone
- Making one code — choose the type, fill in the fields, and the preview updates as you type. Set the print size in millimetres and the resolution, then export.
- Making many codes — switch to Batch, open a CSV or TSV, and choose which column holds the content. The grid previews the exact filename each row will produce. Export writes them all into a folder you pick.
- Styling — module shape, eye shape and colours are in the right-hand panel. A frame adds a border and a call to action beneath the code.
- Adding a logo — choose a PNG or JPEG. The size control stops at what your error-correction level can carry; past that the code stops being readable.
- Reading a code — Read a code opens an image file and decodes it. It reads image files, not photographs.
- Reissuing an old code — every export is filed in the archive with what it encodes. Search it and reissue at a new size, without the original file.
Troubleshooting
- The installer seems to do nothing — right-click and choose Run as administrator.
- My code will not scan after printing — check the preflight strip. The most common causes are printing too small for the amount of data, and a logo large enough to destroy more of the code than error correction can rebuild.
- The logo size slider will not go any further — it stops at what your error-correction level can actually carry. Raise error correction to H and it will allow more.
- A photo of a code will not read — the reader takes image files, not photographs. Crop tightly to the code and try again.
- HEIC files are refused — iPhone HEIC is not supported. Export as PNG or JPEG first.
- My exported file is enormous — this was a defect in versions before 1.0.4, where a large logo was embedded at full resolution. Update to the current version.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it work without an internet connection? Yes. The core job needs no connection. A Pro licence re-checks when you are online and keeps working offline for 30 days after the last successful check.
- Is there a limit on how many codes I can make? No, at any tier.
- Where are my settings stored? In your Windows app-data folder, not next to the program.
- Does it run on a Mac? Not yet. Windows only today.
