JSK ClipKeep support
Getting started
Install ClipKeep from your browser's store, then click its icon in the toolbar. The first screen explains the two permission warnings your browser showed you and offers a working example clip.
There is no account to create and nothing to configure. Copy something on any web page and it appears at the top of the list within about a second.
To open the full workspace, click Open workspace ↗ in the popup. Settings live inside that panel behind the gear icon — there is no separate options page.
Using ClipKeep
- Get a clip back — click any row to copy it, or shift-click to paste it straight into the field you were last using.
- Find something — type in the search box. It searches the clip text, its tags, and the site it came from.
- Keep something permanently — hover a row and use the pin action. Pinned clips stay at the top and are exempt from automatic clean-up.
- Stop it watching — use the capture toggle in the panel title bar. The panel says plainly while capture is paused.
- Exclude a site — open Settings and use Never captured. Type a site, or use Add the site you are on.
Troubleshooting
A clip did not appear. Check the panel for a message — ClipKeep tells you why it refused rather than staying silent. The usual reasons are that capture is paused, the site is on your never-capture list, the copy came from a password field, or the vault is locked.
Copies from outside the browser are not saved. On Chrome and Edge these are picked up within a second or two, and the browser needs to be running. On Firefox this does not work at all — only copies made on web pages are captured. That is a Firefox platform limitation we have not worked around.
Nothing from one particular site is ever saved. That site is on your never-capture list. Open Settings, find Never captured, and remove it — the panel confirms the change in words.
Everything says "could not decrypt". The vault is locked. Open Settings and unlock it with your PIN. If you have forgotten it, use I forgot my PIN and enter the recovery key you saved when you set it up.
An image pastes as a wall of text. Make sure you are clicking the image row itself rather than copying its label. Clicking an image clip puts the actual picture on your clipboard.
The keyboard shortcuts do nothing. They ship unassigned on purpose, because a suggested combination that is already taken fails silently. Set them yourself at chrome://extensions/shortcuts on Chrome, or edge://extensions/shortcuts on Edge.
My clips disappeared after I disconnected my account. They did not. Disconnecting only changes which features are offered — nothing is ever deleted. Check that a folder or smart collection is not still selected and filtering the list.
Frequently asked questions
Does my clipboard leave my computer?
No. The only request ClipKeep can make is a sign-in check to jskapps.com, and only if you connect an account. The trust panel in Settings shows a live count of requests made.
How do I get all my clips out?
Settings, then Export your clips. JSON needs no account. CSV and plain text need a free JSKAPPS account.
How do I delete everything?
Delete individual clips from the list, or set an automatic clean-up rule under Settings. Uninstalling the extension removes the entire local database.
Is there a limit on how much it keeps?
No. There is no cap on clips, pins or tags on any tier.
